A Far Cry
Kneisel Hall Young Artists

Dear Friends,

This weekend Boston-based A Far Cry will present the weekend concerts. A Far Cry stands at the forefront of an exciting new generation in classical music. A Far Cry was founded in 2007 by a tightly knit collective of 17 young professional musicians (many Kneisel Hall alumni), and since the beginning has fostered those personalities. They have developed an innovative process where decisions are made collectively and leadership rotates among the “Criers.” For each piece, a group of principals is elected by the members, and these five musicians guide the rehearsal process and shape the interpretation. Since each program includes multiple works, this multiplicity of leaders adds tremendous musical variety to the concerts.

The Verona String Quartet is presenting the September concert. They are currently the Graduate Resident String Quartet at The Juilliard School, where they work closely with members of the Juilliard String Quartet and teach during Juilliard’s 2015-2016 Academic Year as Lisa Arnhold Fellows. The Juilliard School will present the Verona Quartet’s Lincoln. Tickets are available through the Kneisel Hall box office or on line. NOTE: the open rehearsal for this performance is Saturday, September 10 at 9:00 a.m.

On November 9, 2016 Seymour Lipkin colleagues and students are presenting an evening of music and reminisces at Weill Hall/Carnegie Hall in NYC to benefit the Seymour Lipkin Artistic Director Endowment. Tickets are available on the Carnegie Hall website or email or call or write Kneisel Hall.

We hope to see you soon and often at Kneisel Hall,
