In addition to being its namesake, Franz Kneisel’s passion for chamber music is the heart and soul of Kneisel Hall.
Kneisel Hall offers two distinct programs for music students and young professional artists.
The season returns with the best of chamber music. Join us June 28 to August 25.
We look forward to sharing a full slate of Friday and Sunday concerts, Open Rehearsals, Master Classes, the ever-popular Young Artist Concert series, and more!
Your donation supports our musicians and the music they make.
After studies with Anton Kuerti and Leon Fleisher, her career was launched with prizes at the CBC Radio National Competition and the Washington DC FMMC Competition. Since then, she has performed at the Wigmore Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the Beijing Concert Hall, the Bolshoi Hall in St,. Petersburg, Russia, and Salle Gaveau (Paris), to name a few, and in many cities across North America, Asia, and Europe. Her CD release of the complete Sonatas for Piano and Violin by Beethoven, with Kneisel Hall former faculty member Andrew Dawes, was—and still is—a treasured interpretation of this repertoire. She has been invited to collaborate with the Audubon, Manhattan, Penderecki, Lafayette, Orford, Angeles, Miami, Pacifica and Afiara String Quartets, as well as many distinguished instrumentalists and singers. Ms. Coop has recently left her long-time teaching position at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver to devote herself full-time to her performance career. In 2012 she was awarded the Order of Canada, in recognition of her lifetime achievement.
