April 2021
Dear Friends,
Kneisel Hall will open this summer!! There will be glorious chamber music again on our beloved campus.
The Young Artist Class of 2021 is assembled and the musicians are eagerly looking forward to the magical Kneisel Hall experience. Applications are open for the Program for Maine Students (June 19-23) and the Adult Chamber Music Institute (August 18-25).
After months of carefully researching COVID-19 prevention practices and consulting with Maine state officials, as well as with health care and infectious disease experts, we have developed comprehensive safety protocols to guide our activities this summer. Throughout the season we will closely monitor the evolving COVID-19 developments and follow Maine CDC and local public health guidance to protect the health and safety of our musicians, staff, and the broader Blue Hill community.
Concerts will be streamed online, free to the Kneisel community and friends everywhere. Similarly, our extensive community outreach programs will be conducted virtually to limit health risks. As new scientific information becomes available and the vaccine rollout continues, Kneisel’s safety protocols may potentially be modified.
Kneisel Hall is committed to offering meaningful and memorable experiences to our musical family and supporters from around the world. Kneisel Hall will be here for you as a resource for connection, belonging, and musical sanctuary that we all need now, more than ever before!
Stay tuned for more information and the Festival Concert streaming schedule in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, please stay safe and healthy!
With all our good wishes,
Laurie Smukler, Artistic Director
