Year-End Appeal 2024

November 2024

Dear Friend,

Kneisel Hall allows for chamber music—the most intimate form of musical expression—to be experienced at close range. Nestled on the serene campus beside Blue Hill Mountain, we provide a unique space where musicians hone their craft and evoke the deepest emotions of great musical works. Here, exuberance, tenderness, and beauty are not just heard; they are felt, as audiences come together to share in the magic of live performance.

For over one hundred years, Kneisel Hall has been devoted to excellence in chamber music. Our unique wooded setting inspires life-changing summers for musicians and audiences alike, fostering a community where collaboration and creativity thrive. At Kneisel Hall, we embrace the building of community in the performance and sharing of chamber music. Together, there is the possibility of reaching greater heights than
we can do alone.

“Attending Kneisel Hall has been the most incredible privilege. I will never forget the musical inspiration I feel each afternoon learning from our incredible coaches, the joy of feeding off everyone’s abundant passions for chamber music, and getting to hear numerous concerts where each musician pours their whole heart into the performances.” – 2024 violinist, Young Artist Program

“Being immersed in hours-long chamber music was the highlight of my summer. I loved working with the Young Artist mentors, and I experienced tremendous musical growth that was not possible during my school year.” – 2024 cellist, Program for Maine Students

“Our family loved the concerts at the Blue Hill Public Library this summer! The Young Artists performed a fantastic program that was engaging and informative. My two kids were wiggling in their seats with excitement at seeing the artists up close! Thank you, Kneisel Hall, for providing such an extraordinary and enriching gift to the community.” – 2024 Blue Hill Public Library patron

This year, we invite you to play a vital role in our community. Your year-end gift will strengthen our programs and ensure that Kneisel Hall continues to inspire future generations. Last summer, as we have done for many years, we charged no tuition to our Young Artists and subsidized some ancillary expenses for some who otherwise could not afford to come. This enables us to attract the absolute best and brightest young classical musicians—but we can only do it with your generous support.

We look forward to many more years of inspirational music-making. Together, we can keep the spirit of Kneisel Hall alive.

Thank you for considering a contribution that will make a lasting impact.

Warm regards,

Laurie Smukler, Artistic Director  / Meredith Amado, Executive Director / Jeffrey Kehl, President, Board of Trustees
